Astra Defense Systems LLC ("Astra," "we," "us") provides recruiting software used by U.S. Marine Corps recruiters to communicate with prospective applicants. This policy explains what information we collect through that software and our text messaging program, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

  • Contact details you provide to a recruiter, such as your name, mobile phone number, and email address.

  • Your text message consent, including the date you opted in or opted out.

  • Message records, such as the content, date, and delivery status of texts sent to or from you.

How we use your information

  • To send you text messages from Marine Corps Recruiting about service opportunities, appointments, and events, if you agreed to receive them.

  • To let your recruiter follow up with you one to one.

  • To honor opt-out (STOP) and help (HELP) requests.

  • To operate, secure, and improve the recruiting platform.

Mobile information is never sold or shared for marketing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We share information only with the service providers that deliver our messages and host our platform (for example, Amazon Web Services), solely to provide the service, and as required by law.

Your choices

  • Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving messages. You will receive one confirmation text, then no further messages.

  • Reply HELP for help, or contact us using the details below.

  • Opting out of texts does not affect your eligibility for military service.

Data security and retention

We protect your information with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest. We keep information only as long as needed for recruiting communications or as required by law and our government contract.

Children

Our messaging program is intended for individuals who can lawfully consent to receive text messages.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it was last changed.
